The Story

Inter-Dimensional alien force Nejirejia begins an attack on Earth. A secret science organization: INET picks the top scoring player of the Megaranger video game Kenta and his friends to don the Digitizers to become the only chance Earth has against Dr. Hinera and his army of Monsters: Denji Sentai Megaranger!!

How Good it it?

Hailed as "Mighy Morphin Power Rangers done right", Denji Sentai Megaranger has everything you could possibly want out of a Sentai show. The series had action, comedy and drama. The mentor of the Megaranger, Dr. Kubota is a kind a caring individual who valued the lives of his friends so much that during the fight with the Nejiranger he had thier digitizers' transformation program turned off to protect them. The Megaranger care equally for Kubota and look at him as a father-figure, risking their own lives more than once to protect him from danger. The introduction of Yuusaku (MegaSilver) was quite different from most 6th man introductions. While Usually a 6th man will be a lost wandering soul or an evil being bent on the destruction of everything , MegaSilver was comical, and with the team from the start, not to mention he was a genius. He was only able to stay as MegaSilver for 2.5 minutes at first, but he was able to overcome this problem, and still had time to create his own mecha, the Mega Winger. As for the villians, Dr. Hinera, Shimbolena, and Yugande, were actually very close and cared deeply for one another. They cared for each other so much so that it actually makes you feel kind of bad when towards the end of the series Yugande is destroyed by MegaRed, simply because of the sadness it brings to Shimbolena. While I don't want to give anything away, the series finale of this wonderful show was breathtaking and almost brought tears to the eyes of this writer...and I don't even speak Japanese!!

Conclusion

Overall, Denji Sentai Megaranger is my personal favorite Sentai, because of the many different things that make this series what it is. This series is a definitevely a must see, no matter what kind of Sentai fan you are.
