Story

"In the year 300X, a cruel dictator mandated the hunting of all hair in the Maruhage Empire. But a single man rises to the occasion and takes a stand against the violation of human hair rights. Bo-bobo, master of Fist of The Nose Hair, uses the prehensile hairs of his schnoz to most lethal ends. Follow the nonsensical adventures of Bo-bobo and his sentient sidekick snacks as they lead their hilarious rebellion against the Empire. " - From the back of the Bo-bobo book

Review

Okay, with that pool of lies out of the way it's time to get down to what Bo-bobo is really all about. This manga is anything but hilarious. At best its mildly entertaining. Zero parts of the book got me to laugh. Most scenes have nothing to do with the overall story and it seems only the villains ever learn a lesson or change. In one particular chapter one of the Bald empires' Big Four, Halekulani asks Bo-bo's what’s more important than money and Bo-bobo responds, "How about...uh...love and friendship?" Bo-bobo then shows Halekulani a normal everyday life to get him to change his mind about money being the most important thing. Though this week turns out to be anything but normal as they blow up a merry go round on Monday, hold a hostage on Tuesday, a samurai battle on Wednesday, goes to buy a fish but ends killing an alien on Thursday, kicks Halekulanis spin on Friday, become monsters on Saturday, and finally on Sunday they reenact "Alice In Wonder Land". Even after all this Halekulani still thinks money is everything so Bo-bobo uses all his power from his everyday experiences he's had in his everyday life on him and Halekulani finally realizes that money isn't everything. He then asks Bo-bobo what is the most important thing in the world and Bo-bobo replies, "Of course I know what it is!!! That would be money!"

Pretty much the rest of the book is just like this which in my opinion in rather stupid. Other parts of the book include parodies of Dragon Ball Z and many others of which I don't know the names of. These parodies are not well executed so they leave you anything but laughing.

The sequence of events in the book is very strange because it starts off in the middle of the series but you won't need to know jack about the series because its pretty much self explanatory.

The characters in the book are mostly all just stupid and strange. Bo-bobo, the main character, is the most random of the group, having everything pop out of his afro from little old women to Yu-Gi-Oh! ( Drawn by the actual artist of the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga). Papa rocks, a strange assortment of acute angles, spends most of the book syaing how he's the main character of the book and not Bo-bobo which pretty much gets annoying. Jelly Jiggler, a former member of the bald empire is obsessed with the hiragana character, Nu for some unknown reason and is mainly just someone Bo-bobo uses as a shield to block attacks and use for his own attacks. Gasser, his power being his deadly gas has a very small part in the book and never really fights. Softon is basically a guy with poop for a head who also doesn't fight very much in the book. Rounding out the cast is Beauty, the sole person on the team with an ounce of Sanity and is the only one who points how random everything is.

The only redeeming quality of this manga is that it's a one shot. There is no sequel book from the looks of things which leaves the series unfinished but I could really care less. If there was I wouldn't even bother getting the second because the first one turned me off so much and I could guess the second would be just as stupid as the first.

Conclusion

This is the stupidest manga I've read in my life. Any semblance of story is no existent and most of the characters are idiotic buffoons. I seriously recommend taking this off your list of manga your thinking about getting (how it could get there is beyond me).

Two Thumbs WAAAAAYYYYY Down.
