Introduction
This is the review of the
Kidou Keiji Jiban song collection! Not many songs as you
can see. So this review shouldn't be too long and boring
as say Winspector-Exceedraft are, which at the time of this
writing haven't been written yet. Enjoy this review!
Kidou
Keiji Jiban
The 80s are ending! This
is Metal Hero's one last chance of getting it's 80s fury
out. But, instead of getting jazzy disco songs, we're delighted
by this crazy mix of total action songs! A real treat to
the ears and really has very little weak points. Kushida's
overall singing can have it's ups and downs for the songs
that he sings. But it really doesn't matter! Where singing
fails, music makes up. I'm going to punch in a 4 instead
of 5 in my Police Denshi Techo badge for this CD review.
01. Kidou
Keiji Jiban
>>TV series opening song. I love the build up and
climax at the beginning of the song. Very cool! Then all
of the sudden Akira Kushida chimes in with his very abrupt
singing style. Very much a roller coaster of a song. Doesn't
much match the opening video for the series. In that video,
Jiban basically shows off his toys and walks around very,
very, slow. Until when he makes that running slide at the
end. Then you know that he is worthy of this awesome song!
02. Moero! Jiban
>>A very unique song. Only something you'd hear in
the 80's, which this show barely belongs to. What makes
this song uniques is the randomness in which is takes off
in...then all of the sudden things get weird, dark. Then
take off again. As if Jiban died and was suddenly revived.
A personal favourite on this CD.
03. Perfect Jiban!
>>Can he be more perfect? I think he can. Including
this song. I'm going to be perfectly honest, this song definitely
defines the basic action song. Infact, this song includes
every single element of such a thing. What really bothers
me is how Kushida sings this one. Little too calm and not
urgent enough. If he sang this song nearly as viciously
as he did for the series ending song, it'd be gold!
04. Sakusetsu Passion!
>>This song has a tropical touch to it somehow. Maybe
from how it sounds at the very beginning? Can't quite put
my finger on it. This song is kind of boring until the chorus,
where ultimately the song climax lies. Very cool stuff at
that point.
05. Police Woman
no Hikana Akogare
>> Cute song. Something any CD could use. A mid-CD
cool down. This song really doesn't ripple the water much.
A straight-through listener. No single point in the song
stands out. A very nice listen.
06. Goyo da!
>> "Go Go! Goyo da!" Yeah! Gotta love this
one. Very jazzy and upbeat. Mr. Kushida really does perform
excellently in this track. The music is pretty soothing
and punishing at the same time. The way most Akira
Kushida songs are and should be.
07. Jiban San Daimecha
no uta
>> Cool song. Kushida sings a verse for each of Jiban's
supermachines! First verse is for Reson (Car). Second Verse
is for Vaican (Motorcycle). The third verse is for Spylas
(Gyro/Plane)! Very cool idea. The song itself keeps with
the action theme that's pretty much been on going thoughout
this entire CD so far! Not for the weak
hearted!
08. Jiban no Himitsu
>>Another personal favourite on this CD. It's pretty
much the 'soft' song of the CD. If you've heard this song,
you're probably wondering what in the word i'm talking about.
Well, in all actuality, this song is quite the softy compared
to the other songs throughout. The guitar part of this song
is worthy of any battle though.
09. Biolon Gundan
Arawaru
>>Dark and evil sounding from the start, this song
picks up, but doesn't drop the tone. The singing isn't really
up to par for what is being sung about. An evil army! Kushida
just doesn't cut t for this one. Sorry Kushi!
10. Ashita Yohou
wa Itsumo Hare
>> Series ending song. The singing is really a little
too intense from the very start. Maybe a bit too intense
for the music. The song is pretty cheery and Kushida is
a screaming maniac throughout. Great sunny day song though.
As the ending video suggests, this song is ideal for any
fake wedding you plan on throwing in the near future.
