All Janperson Song Review
Kage

Introduction

A word from the reviewer: Well, I really can't set up much of an introduction for this CD. It's the Song collection for 1993's "Tokusou Robo Janperson". The Purple bot himself. Time to review what little songs he has!

Tokusou Robo Janperson Song Collection

CD Review: Well, this is one of the first Metal Hero shows I actually recognized for it's great songs. Though lackin a wide variety of singers, this CD does show plenty of mood and flexibilty. I do recommend this CD. It really does have a steady ground for the show it represented. The singers themselves seem to be a team. Hironobu Kageyama and Susumu Ooya appeared together on several Dragonball Z singles from 1994-1995. Just a little fun fact for you guys before I get started. I give this CD 3.5 out of 5 Murasaki Ookami (Purple wolves). Reason being the lack of content.

01. Tokusou Robo Janperson

>>This song starts off great...and gets better. It's a fairly dreary and dark song throughout, not even the Children's choir can really give it a lighter tone. Great way to start off a show I suppose. Which I guess was the intent of this song was to mirror the show, which was a miss or total hit to fans. Definitely the ideal song for this series. Not to be mixed with say...B-Robo Kabutack.

02. Ore wa Gunman~Gun Gibson no theme

>>Very uppity song from the start. Very well track placement as the second track to this CD. It does seem a little too much like a standard Hironobu Kageyama song in that it's main focus is...well the same lyric over and over again. Allthough I do find the track neatly placed on this CD, i'm not a real huge fan of it.

03. Seigi no Tame ni
>>Definitely the main action song for the series. Very very catchy with it's guitar parts and somewhat urgency. Not really much to say about this song. "For Justice! For Justice! Tatakae! Janperson". Doesn't that speak volumes to you? Great song indeed.

04. Kimi wa Nemure Soshite Utae

>>I really love this song. It has a fairly romantic groove to it. Not sure what makes it sound that way, but it's a well-welcomed soft song after the first the songs being all action related. Ahhh...nice and mellow song.

05. Omae ga Iru kara~JP & Gun Gibson Tomodachi no theme

>>More upbeat than it really needs to be. This song is about the friendship between Janperson and Gun Gibson. In reality though, it does resemble "Ore wa Gunman" alot. It's really somewhat difficult to tell the songs apart if you listen to a few second of the middle of each song. Another case of false advertisement by title.

06. Hello! JP

>>Another romantic type song from the start. Really dreamy if you add in the title and such. This song is really pretty cool. But it's also just there...not much of an impact on the ears.

07. Murasaki Ookami Densetsu

>>The resident ultra slow song! This is one of my favourite slow songs of all time. This song really does know how to end it all. I love it. Defninetly worth hunting this CD for.

08. Asayake no Lulluby

>>The series ending song. Definitely a slow one, allthough not as remarkable as "Murasaki Ookami Densetseu". This song really is a great song though. I just love the calling out to Janperson. It's almost like saying "No! I don't want to wait until next week to see you again!". I guess it's even worse when the series leaves the airwaves completely. Bummer. Oh well, great ending song. Better suits the spot than any other song I can think of on this soundtrack.
