Introduction
Chikyu Sentai Fiveman was one of those forgotten shows
with an incredible song and music file. It's very strange
how that works. Here i'll be reviewing the Song Collection.
A
very special part of my ever growing CD collection.
CD Review
Since the depressing Song Collection of "Choju Sentai
Liveman", things became much more cheerful for the
Sentai Song world. "Kousoku Sentai Turboranger"
featured yet another cast singer, and a whole slew of cheerful
songs. Though Fiveman doesn't have a cast singer for most
of the songs, the songs are also cheerful. At the same time,
the songs on this song collection are a sure departure from
anything that any Sentai song collection has ever had. It
was an excellent change in style, but ultimate this CD remained
unremembered like much of the "Kyodai Sensei"
series. I give this CD 4 teachers out
of 5.
01. Chikyu Sentai
Fiveman
>>Series Opening song. In my opinion, one of the catchiest
(?) opening tracks ever. I constantly find myself whistling
this tune. Nice adventurous beat. It lacks very little.
Maybe not that great of an actual fight song, but thats
not the total purpose of an opening song. Make this a part
of your song collection if you haven't already.
02. Atsui Beat Fiveman
>>As you can probably guess by the title, this is
an upbeat little number. Plenty of horns, nice chorus too.
I can see this as a nice battle song, though a little too
cheery. Maybe for some of the less serious fights of the
series.
03. Oretachi wa
Uro Hero
>>This song is neither
upbeat or slow. It's mellow. A happy song, but at the same
time the music keeps it on the level. The vocals to this
song are unique. Pretty cool song. If you're into chill
songs.
04. Janken Jump!
Fiveman
>>Very cool song. Action all the way. Again, even
if it is an action song...maybe not for some of the more
important battles. It has it's charm, but at the same time
let's you know that this is strictly business. The only
troubling thing about this song is the flat bassline.
Good stuff.
05. Itsutsu no Kokoro
de Fiverobo
>>Hironobu Kageyama makes a wonderful contribution
to this song collection through this song. This song is
all business. Very upbeat, not so much heroic. It let's
you know that Fiverobo is going to win this one...or atleast
put up a great fight! Irony has it, Fiverobo is made up
of three vehicles. Regardless, an awesome but oh so short
song.
06. Kung Fu Dance
>>Strictly battle song. This Onna Senshi track features
excellent upbeat music with a taste of tradition. The music
is more serious than the previous battle songs on the CD.
The vocals fit in nicely with the beat. Yelling of the attack
names has always been my thing. This song fulfills this
quirk of mine.
07. Super Arthur
>>When all is rolling smoothly, something has to jump
in your way. The CD has been great so far. This song is
pretty annoying to say the least. Very upbeat theme for
Arthur G-6. The vocals in the intro are strange. The vocals
during the song aren't much different at all. The only amusing
point of this song is the mentioning of the "Ass Cannon".
Not really "Ass", but "Earth". Just
sounds funny.
08. Brother Blood
>>My favourite Fiveman song. This track is all out
action. Suitable for any battle. Very Heroic. Attack calls.
Everything. This song lacks nothing. It has everything I
ever wanted. I think i'm in love. I can't decide what is
the best part fo the song...the in-your-face guitars or
the in-your-face bass. It's all good. Find this song.
09.
Hand in Hand
>>Mellow song. In saying mellow, I mean along the
same lines as "Oretachi wa Uro Hero" was. Happy,
but at the same time slow and low beat. Pretty cool song.
Very timely. 1-2-3-4-5 Fiveman! Red-Black-Blue, Yellow-Pink!
10. Fiveman, Ai
no theme
>>Series ending song. I like this song alot more than
I did at first. It really is one of those songs that makes
you sad to see a show end. The song is pretty cheery, but
at the same time it makes me sad. Great song though. Worth
tracking down if you haven't allready!
11. Chikyu wa Hogarakajima
>>As rare as this song is...is it worth getting? Answer:
No. I never really liked Children choirs coupled with modern
music. Besides being obnoxious, this song doesn't have much
to offer musically. The bass is dreary. The flute is lame.
The drummer sounds like he's asleep. Eh.
12. Kyodai Robo
Da ze! Starfive
>>The beginning of the song has the same "He's
arrived!" feel that "Itsutsu no Kokoro de Fiverobo"
has. The song is virtually the same as the Fiverobo song
in many respects. Goes nicely along with this song collection.
Quite possibly more rare than the Fiverobo song.

EXS Tracks!!
00. Chikyu Sentai Fiveman (Naoto Fuuga)
>> A lower budget cover of the Fiveman opening song.
Done by the same
singer who credits the "Denji Sentai Megaranger"
opening song among
other tracks. The singing is great in this track. The music
is cheesier,
but very much enjoyable. Great cover!
00. Chikyu Sentai Fiveman (Shinichi Ishihara)
>> The music is better in this track than the Naoto
Fuuga version.
Possibly even better than the original version. This is
a great cover
of an already great song. Shinichi Ishihara took it a step
further.
On a scale of rare, this is Tickle-Me-Elmo-circa-Christmas-1996
rare.
