Dragonball
Z Hit Songs II: Kisseki Zenkai Power
Kage
Introduction
A word from the reviewer: There are 20 total Dragonball
Z Hit Songs CDs. This is my first review for a DBZ CD. The
reviews for "Cha-La Head-Cha-La" and "Detekoi
Tobikiri Zenkai Power!!" will appear on the review
for "Dragonball Z Hit Songs I" when I get around
to writing it.
Dragonball Z Hit
Songs II: Kisseki Zenkai Power!!
CD Review: Most likely the most popular and sought after
of the Dragonball Z Hit Song CDs. This CD is done entirely
by Hironobu Kageyama & Broadway minus tracks 1 and 10.
I really must say, the people are right on this one! This
is a fabulous CD. I wouldn't say it's the best of the DBZ
Hit Song CDs, but it's definitely top three material! On
a sad note, Hironobu Kageyama has NOT been seen with Broadway
since the late 1980s.. possibly since this album. This is
your last chance to hear them together in all their glory!
I give this album 4 out of 5 Dragonballs.
01. Cha-La Head-Cha-La
02. Joushiki Nante NA·I·SA
>>I love how this song starts off with the piano,
then gets accompanied by the dreamy sounding guitar. There
is no better way to start a CD! Just like starting a journey,
the beginning is most memorable, during the trip there are
some adventures, and the end is
as great as the beginning. Well, we'll have to wait until
I review track nine for that to become true. This song really
is an awesome way for this CD to start. Somewhat mellow,
with a sense of adventures to come. Not a song to be skipped!
Kageyama does really display his wonderful singing talents
in this piece, and Broadway is there to compliment with
their wonderful instrument handling.
03. Omori Gohan
>>Danger! Thats what this song really states from
the start and also the title. Pretty fast paced, doesn't
let up. Great song. I do like one particular line from the
song..."Omori Rice Boy!". Gives me a laugh everytime
I get to it. Also like to note the dreamy guitar work used
again about three minutes into the song for the guitar part.
Also like to note Kageyama's urgency when he sings. A real
rarity for him to get into such a song that much.
04. Koko kara~From The Home Planet Earth
>>Sadness overwhelms this song from the start. It
doesn't really pick up much from there. I really do admire
the bassist for Broadway, as his work really stands out
most in this song over everything else. This song itself
is a little too mellow, even for my soft tastes.
05. Mirai Chizu
>>Another slow song, allthough you can pretty much
tell from the start that it's gonna pick up a bit. Again,
the bassist is great throughout the song, I wish I could
play bass that well. I also really admire the female background.
Again leaves a very dreamy, ghostly effect on the song and
ultimately on the whole album.
06. Tenkai Muteki no Full Course
>>Most likely the most well-known and popular song
on the CD. Possibly for the line "DBZ World!".
This song has a really cool incoming guitar effect from
the start. Then it begins. The song pretty much keeps with
the low-laying effect thus far presented. It does have it's
moments of greatness. Broadway does a great job on the background
vocals for this track as well as their musical talents.
Kageyama is himself...great! Really a wonderful song.
07. Fly High
>>Right from the drums, this song is upbeat and never
lets up! It's great to hear an upbeat 80's song every now
and again. I really like how Broadway and Kageyama handle
this song. Overall greatness! Broadway should've been Kageyama's
band forever, they sound incredible together.
08. All Alone
>>Same incoming effect used as in "Tenkai Muteki
no Full Course". This is another slow song, but probably
the most basic on this CD. Again, the bassist does an amazing
job standing out. This has to be one of the greatest CDs
if you like alot of bass like me. The song itself relays
alot of sadness, especially through the piano and keyboard
part, but the reassuring bass and guitar arrive to relay
some hope! Then back to the song. Great stuff.
09. One Heart~Konen
>>Love the way this song starts off. Then it begins!
The light at the end of the tunnel! Sadly, that means that
this journey is over. It definitely ends with an overall
greatness though! Very upbeat song, can't think of a better
place for it on this CD. I am a little sad that the bass
wasn't very distinguished in this song. Doesn't matter though,
it was great in all of those other songs! I'd like to note
one interesting line from this song that Kageyama says..."Super
Fight Energy!". Also gives me a giggle when I hear
it.
10. Detekoi Tobikiri Zenkai Power!!
